PeluChef Terms & Conditions of Use

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of PeluChef, the cooking-assistance app for Android. By creating an account and using the app, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, you shouldn't use PeluChef.

1. What PeluChef is

PeluChef is a voice-based cooking assistant (with a text-chat panel as an alternative in silent mode) that recommends recipes you've already saved, generates new recipes with the help of artificial intelligence (Gemini, by Google), and lets you live-edit whatever you're cooking. It also lets you build a weekly menu, automatically generate that week's shopping list and a "Meal Prep" (batch-cooking recipe) from your recipes, import a recipe from an Instagram or TikTok video, sync everything across your devices, follow other accounts, publish your own recipes for anyone to see, and watch recipes other users have published.

2. Your account and your profile

• To use PeluChef you need to sign in with a valid Google account and choose a unique !username.
• Your !username and your profile (photo, bio, signature, recipe/follower counts) are public within PeluChef: any other account can search for you, see them, and follow you.
• You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity that happens on your PeluChef account.
• PeluChef is not directed at children under 13.

3. AI-generated content: no warranties

• The recipes PeluChef recommends, generates, or edits are suggestions created with the help of an artificial intelligence model, and may contain errors.
• We do not verify or guarantee the nutritional accuracy, food safety, or absence of allergens in any recipe, whether generated by the AI or created by another user.
• It's on you to check the ingredients, cooking temperatures, times, and any allergy or dietary restriction of your own or of the people you're cooking for, before following any recipe.
• We are not liable for any harm, illness, or damage resulting from following a recipe shown in the app.

4. Other users' content, reports, and blocks

Other users' recipes and profiles are the responsibility of whoever created or published them, not ours. We don't review every recipe or profile before it's published, but we do have an after-the-fact moderation mechanism: you can report a specific account or recipe you find inappropriate (illegal, offensive, misleading content, or content that violates these Terms) from that account's profile or from the recipe's menu, and you can block any user to stop seeing them and being seen by them (blocking also removes the follow relationship between both accounts, in both directions). We review reports and may remove content or suspend the account responsible.

5. Acceptable use

• You may not use PeluChef for illegal activities, to harass, discriminate against, or threaten other users, or to try to access accounts that aren't yours.
• You may not publish content that isn't yours as your own, or recipes or images that are offensive, misleading, or that infringe on third-party rights.
• You may not attempt to breach, overload, or interfere with the service's operation.

6. Your own Gemini API key

To use the AI assistant you need to load your own Gemini API key, subject to the terms of use and limits Google places on that key. We are not responsible for the operation, availability, or costs of the Gemini API. When we put together suggested photos for a recipe, we search among stock images from a third-party service (Pexels) — see the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Importing recipes from Instagram and TikTok

• You can paste the link to an Instagram or TikTok video so PeluChef tries to build a recipe from its audio and description. This feature has a daily usage limit per account.
• You decide which videos to import, and you're responsible for having the right to do so (for example, because the content is public and you're importing it for personal use). We are not responsible for the content of those videos, and we don't guarantee the import will always work, since it depends on third-party services outside our control.
• We have no affiliation with Meta/Instagram or with TikTok. Use of this feature is also subject to the terms of whichever platform you're importing from.
• The recipe that gets built is an AI suggestion based on that video, with the same caveats as section 3 above.

8. Intellectual property

• PeluChef, its name, and its logo belong to its developer. "Gemini" and "Google" are trademarks of Google LLC, mentioned solely to describe the app's technical integration, without implying any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement by Google.
• Recipes you create or edit yourself remain yours; you grant us the permission needed to store them and show them to you within the app, to share them with whoever you choose, and to publish them if you decide to. If you delete your account, you also grant us permission to keep the text of those recipes disconnected from your identity, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Account suspension or closure

We may suspend or close your account if we detect misuse of the app, a violation of these Terms, or based on a substantiated report from another user. You can request deletion of your account at any time, from the app (Settings → "Delete my account") or by following the steps in How to delete your account.

10. No warranties and limitation of liability

PeluChef is provided "as is," with no warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss, or any other harm arising from use of the app.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
